A primary school student on Auckland's North Shore has tested positive for COVID-19.
The student at Glamorgan School in Torbay is among the 17 confirmed cases of community transmission.
Auckland public health officials said two Mangere East schools - Southern Cross Campus and Taeaofou i Puaseisei Preschool - had also confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, as had the Manukau Institute of Technology.
It is unclear if the Southern Cross Campus and the Taeaofou i Puaseisei Preschool cases are already included in Ministry of Health (MOH) figures.
A regional public health service spokesperson said it was working with the schools and preschool to identify close contacts.
The Glamorgan and MIT cases are already included in the MOH figures.
Meanwhile, the Warehouse Group said two Noel Leemings stores were closed after a person who tested positive for COVID-19 visited them at the weekend.
It asked staff in its Albany and Wairau Park stores to stay home on Thursday as a precaution.
They will stay closed on Friday so they can be deep cleaned.
The country will find out at 5.30pm on Friday about any further alert level changes. Auckland is currently in alert level 3 while the rest of the country is at level 2.
Cabinet is meeting at 3pm to consider the latest COVID-19 test results and advice from the Director General of Health.
Following that meeting the Prime Minister will address the media at Parliament.
