A person has been airlifted to hospital with critical injuries following a hit-and-run in the western Waikato town of Kawhia early Sunday morning.
The police say they were called shortly before 1am to Rosamond Tce, where the person had been struck.
They say the driver left the scene immediately but they're speaking with a person involved.
