Despite being in alert level 3, hundreds of Aucklanders packed beaches and parks on Sunday, concerning Auckland Council.
"The message is stay local, you don't drive across Tāmaki Makaurau to have a day at the beach," says Auckland Councillor Alf Filipaina.
"It's easy for us to say this is what the situation is but it's harder for people to do it."
Across Auckland there was plenty of rule-breaking, but also confusion around what's allowed during alert level 3.
All playgrounds in Auckland are closed, but mixed messages in playgrounds are confused parents. While some signs say a playground is closed, others tell children how they can play safely.
Authorities say by now, Kiwis should all know what the rules are.
"New Zealanders should all be familiar now with the lockdown rules, we've been through it before," Minister of Health Chris Hipkins says.
Beaches, including swimming, surfing and kayaking are allowed during level 3 lockdown, as long as residents stay local and within 200 metres from the shore.
Aucklanders can visit parks, but are not allowed to use any equipment or sit on benches or tables.
Social distancing of two-metres and wearing a mask is encouraged when outside.
