One person has died in a light aircraft crash at Ōtaki, north of Wellington.
Police were called to the scene at Ōtaki Gorge Road in Hautere, Kapiti around 1:25pm on Monday.
There is an aerodrome and airstrip located on the road.
The Civil Aviation Authority will investigate the crash and the death will be referred to the Coroner.
Further information will be released when it becomes available, police said.
