A man has been arrested after an investigation into alleged card skimming at Auckland and Waikato Hospital parking machines in May and June.
Following enquiries by the Auckland City Financial Crime Unit, a 37-year-old man from South Auckland has been charged in relation to accessing a computer system for dishonest purposes, Detective Senior Sergeant Nikki Latimer announced in a statement on Tuesday.
The man is also facing further charges relating to alleged fraud offences, including multiple charges related to using a forged document and engaging in money laundering transactions.
He will appear in the Auckland District Court on Tuesday.
Latimer says police are committed to investigating fraudulent activity and holding these offenders to account.
As the matter is before the courts, police are not in a position to comment further.
