Wellington's Cuba Street has re-opened after a suspicious package was found to be non-hazardous.
Emergency services flocked to Booth House on Friday afternoon, swiftly blocking the road so no pedestrians or vehicles could enter.
After an investigation, police told Newshub a "white substance" had been delivered to the building but it was deemed safe.
Hazmat trucks lined the street as Fire and Emergency crews unloaded equipment, and passersby told Newshub they could see emergency services wiping their feet on mats before entering the building.
All cordons have since been lifted.
