New Zealanders are now able to discover their name in te reo Māori through an interactive app.
The app Kupu was launched by Spark, Google and Te Aka Māori Dictionary in 2018 to help Kiwis learn Te Reo translations.
A feature of Kupu, which is also available online, allows Kiwis to input their English first name and the site provides a te reo Māori translation.
Through the interactive app Kiwis can also find out out what the objects around them are called in Te Reo through image recognition.
This week is Te Wiki o te Reo Māori (Māori Language Week) which aims to raise awareness about the language and encourage kiwis to begin their Te Reo journey.
