Conspiracy theorists, anti-COVID-19 'freedom fighters' march through Auckland

Anti-lockdown protestors have held another march through Auckland on Saturday as part of an Advance NZ Party rally.

The rally, mostly a mixture of conspiracy theorists and Advance NZ/NZ Public Party supporters, met at Aotea Square for the "rally for your future".

Speeches and signs at the rally touched on the usual conspiracy theories and misinformation over 5G, vaccines, the danger of COVID-19 and the 'deep state'.

MP Jami-Lee Ross gave a blistering speech warning New Zealand's freedoms were being eroded "in the name of the virus" and called for people to vote for change.

The latest Colmar Brunton poll had Advance New Zealand on just 1 percent.

"Fantastic crowd today of Freedom fighters!!" the Advance NZ/NZ Public Party Facebook page captioned his speech.

Ross continued with the protestors and supporters in their march through central Auckland.

"COVID = NAZI NEXUS," one person's sign read.

"Children are not for sale," read another.

This time, the rally was held without the help of the NZ Liberty Movement, which had previously organised one of the marches in conjunction with Advance NZ and the rest itself.

The NZ Liberty Movement posted to Facebook earlier in the week that it wouldn't be involved in Saturday's march due to a lack of communication and collaboration from Advance NZ.

"It is with deepest regret that NZLM must inform our supporters that we will no longer be holding our planned liberty event in Aotea Square this coming Saturday, October 10," its post read.

"Advance NZ has scheduled their event at the same time as ours and despite multiple attempts to reach out to them in an effort to collaborate, we were unfortunately unsuccessful.

"With big numbers expected, you will all appreciate, logistically we can not leave planning the finer details to the last minute and have had to make this difficult call to cancel."
