Snap Fitness in Browns Bay has closed after staff were told a confirmed COVID-19 case visited the gym.
The person went to the North Shore gym on October 17 between 9 am and 12:30 pm.
"Although we have been classed as a low risk, we have decided to take extra precautions and close the club down," a note on the gym's door said.
The note says the Ministry of Health will be following up on all close contacts, but anyone who scanned the COVID Tracer app has been notified.
On Friday, the gym posted on its Facebook page, saying that the building would be closed until midday on Saturday.
"This will enable us enough time to complete multiple thorough deep cleans and a disinfectant fogging of the entire club as a precautionary measure. The disinfectant fogging of the gym is taking place at 10am on Friday 23rd October," the post said.
"Although closing our facilities for a short period was a difficult decision and will cause unwanted inconvenience to our members, we have always prioritized the safety of our customers and in these uncertain times, this is no different."
The post says anyone who attended the I Am Hope bootcamp on October 17 at the Browns Bay beach is considered a close contact.
"Public Health advises that close contacts will need to get tested and self-isolate at home for at least 14 days (the time it can take to become ill with COVID-19). If this is you, please visit your nearest testing centre."
Those who attended the gym on the day between 10:30am and midnight are considered a casual contact.
"Public Health advises that, as a precaution, you will need to get tested and self-isolate at home until you receive a negative result. If this is you, please visit your nearest testing centre."
This comes after the confirmed case visited The Malt in Greenhithe on October 16 between 7:30 pm and 10 pm.
Anyone who visited the pub at that time has been asked to self-isolate and get tested.
Rangitoto College on Auckland's North Shore is another area at "little risk" of the infection.
A student at the school was a household member of the person who tested positive for the virus.
Although classified as a "low risk" - The Ministry of Health urges people to stay at home if they are sick and get tested immediately.
