Firefighters battled a large house fire in East Tāmaki, Auckland on Wednesday night.
Emergency services, including 10 fire crews, were called to the blaze along Point View Dr at 8:37pm and were eventually able to contain it. Fire investigators will visit the site on Thursday.
One person was believed to be inside the house as the fire broke out. They were assessed by St John ambulance.
Police told Newshub on Wednesday that officers were assisting with cordons outside the house and these remain in place on Thursday.
A witness said they could see the fire from as far away as Whitford.
"Saw this from my house in Whitford, one of the biggest fires I have ever seen."
A Newshub cameraman said the fire is huge.
"I don't think I've ever seen a house fire that big."
