Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield has provided an update on COVID-19 in a rare Sunday media stand-up at 1pm.
It came as the New Zealand Herald revealed a letter from the Auckland Regional Public Health Service, advising that a person has been diagnosed with a notifiable, infectious disease. The obtained document did not specify whether the disease is COVID-19.
The letter, written on Saturday, said another person is considered to be a close contact and may become ill and infectious to others.
The recipient was advised that the close contact must self-isolate at home until receiving a clearance letter, the NZ Herald reports.
