A section of Auckland's Southwestern motorway is closed due to a truck fire at around 3:30 pm on Friday.
The truck fire damaged the road section of SH20 and it will be closed (northbound) between Hillsborough Road off-ramp and Hillsborough Road on-ramp at 10 pm on Friday night for repairs.
NZTA said at 7:45 pm, two lanes are now open past the scene following the truck fire.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand extinguished the fire as of 4:10 pm and heavy haulage were on-site.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area and expect delays in both directions on the Southwestern Motorway between Mangere and Hillsborough.
