An Auckland paint store has been forced to close after learning a person suspected to have COVID-19 visited last week.
In a statement posted to their Facebook page on Tuesday, the Mt Roskill Resene ColorShop said they had been informed a person who may have the virus visited on Friday, November 20 from 11:45am to 12:15pm.
The store will now close for the "next few days" as a precautionary measure.
"Our Mt Roskill team are following Auckland Regional Public Health Service advice and are being tested for COVID-19 and self-isolating until they receive a negative test result," it said.
"No Resene staff are showing any symptoms… Customers who visited the store at this time are considered to be at very low risk and are not required to get tested or to stay in self-isolation unless they develop symptoms."
The store will be undergoing a clean before reopening to ensure the virus is eliminated from store surfaces it potentially touched.
No other Resene ColorShop stores are affected.
This comes after two new cases of COVID-19 were detected in New Zealand's managed isolation facilities on Tuesday. There were no new cases of community transmission.
