The Ministry of Health has released the locations visited by the new coronavirus case and will be sending a push alert to people who signed in with the COVID Tracer app during the relevant timeframes.
It warns them they may have been in contact with COVID-19 and should contact Healthline if they begin to feel unwell.
The new case, a contact of a quarantine worker in Auckland, visited the following locations:
- Domestic Terminal, Auckland Airport: 5:30pm - 7:45pm, 5 Nov
- Avis Car Rental, Auckland Airport: 5:00pm - 5:15pm, 5 Nov
- Orleans Chicken & Waffles, Auckland Airport: 5:30pm - 7pm, 5 Nov
- The Gypsy Moth, Auckland Airport: 7:00pm - 7:15pm, 5 Nov
- Hudsons, Auckland Airport: 7:00pm - 7:15pm, 5 Nov
- Little Penang, The Terrace, Wellington: 1:15pm - 3:45pm, 6 Nov
"For contact tracing purposes, anyone who attended one of the locations listed during the relevant timeframes is considered to be a COVID-19 'casual contact' with a low risk of exposure. Close contacts have been contacted directly," the Ministry of Health states.
"This case once again reinforces the importance of everyone who is able to using the app to keep a record of where they have been - it allows our contact tracing team to quickly notify you if you may have been exposed to this virus, and allows you to take immediate action to protect yourself, your whanau, and your community."
The new case (case B) had a work-related meeting with another case (case A) on Wednesday in Auckland before travelling home to Wellington.
Attendees at this meeting have been identified and are isolating, the ministry said.
"Genomic testing is underway to confirm, however Case B is currently regarded as a community case which can be traced to the isolation facility. They are now in a quarantine facility in Wellington.
"Five household contacts are in self-isolation and are being tested.
"Case B flew from Auckland to Wellington on Thursday evening on Air New Zealand flight NZ 457 and sat in row 23. Those passengers sitting two seats in all directions are being contacted and asked to get tested and self-isolate until November 19.
"As an added precaution, we are also asking the households of these flight close contacts to isolate until advised that their flight close contact has had a negative test. These households are regarded as second-order contacts."
The ministry said anyone else who was on the flight and is concerned about their health can call Healthline.
