The COVID-19 Response Minister has called an impromptu coronavirus press conference, just hours after media were told there wouldn't be one on Thursday.
Chris Hipkins' office sent an advisory just before midday notifying news outlets of the media briefing, which he will speak at alongside Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield.
It will take place from the Beehive Theatrette from 1pm on Thursday afternoon.
The press conference comes after three days of no new cases in the community.
The most recent community cases came at the end of last week, when two New Zealand Defence Force workers - one of whom was working at the Jet Park Hotel, Auckland's quarantine facility - tested positive for COVID-19.
All but two of the workers' close contacts had been identified, tested and returned negative results by Wednesday. The remaining contacts are still awaiting their results.
