A Wellington car dealership is looking for the two good samaritans who stopped a vandal in his tracks on Christmas Eve.
The man jumped on a car in the Gazley Motors yard before beating another car with a torn-off wind wiper.
Two members of the public chased him down before police arrived.
The whole incident was caught on the dealer's CCTV. Video shows the man taking a flying leap onto the hood of a car, leaping up and down as the bonnet caves beneath his feet.
He then wrenches the windscreen wiper from the vehicle next to it and smashes a third car, before two pedestrians step in.
The two people approach the man, and he sprints away into the night.
Gazley Motors owner Oliver Gazley says had the pair not stepped in, the man could have caused even more damage.
"We really want to give them a reward for helping us and saving us so much money," he says.
"Gazley Motors can't quite promise to reward the pair with a new car but is urging them to get in touch."
