A person has died after drowning at west Auckland's Piha Beach.
The incident was reported to Police just before 5pm on Tuesday afternoon.
"Medical assistance was provided at the scene but unfortunately the person has since died," a police spokesperson said.
A Westpac Rescue Helicopter was reported to have been at the scene.
The person's death will be referred to the Coroner.
