Emergency services have rescued a person from a truck after it crashed into a bus on Thursday morning in east Auckland.
Three firetrucks, police and St John responded to the collision just before 11am at the Ormiston Rd - Murphy's Rd intersection in Flat Bush.
"The truck driver involved has sustained serious injuries and is being transported to Middlemore Hospital. There were a small number of passengers aboard the bus at the time of the crash," police say.
"We are aware that a small number of passengers have sustained minor injuries and they are being assessed at the scene."
An image shows the Auckland Transport Metro bus' windscreen smashed in while the front and side of a white truck has been severely damaged.
The Serious Crash Unit and Commercial Vehicle Safety Team have been notified of the incident.
