A man has been charged with threatening to kill after an incident at a Hastings mosque.
The 36-year-old visited the mosque in early April and allegedly made threatening comments to the people there, a police spokesperson told Newshub.
Soon after he allegedly threatened the mosque attendees, the man was arrested at his home.
The spokesperson says police know how traumatic incidents like this are for the community.
"Police will not tolerate this kind of behaviour and we encourage anyone with concerns for their safety to contact Police immediately on 111, as the victims in this incident did."
