A man is in a serious condition after a suspected stabbing in the central Auckland suburb of Westmere, Newshub understands.
A police spokesperson confirmed to Newshub that officers were called to an address shortly before 8pm on Rawene Avenue. A man was located at the property with serious injuries.
Newshub understands the incident occurred at a birthday party. A witness says the event had been calm, but they later heard a glass smash and the party was shut down.
The man has since been transported to hospital.
"Police are currently in the area and at this early stage are making enquiries into the circumstances of what has occurred," the spokesperson says.
