A man has been hospitalised with critical injuries after a violent brawl erupted on a main road in central Auckland.
The altercation, which involved multiple people, broke out during the early hours of Sunday morning.
"Police responded to reports of a group of people fighting on Symonds St in central Auckland about 2:55am," a police spokesperson told Newshub.
A man suffered critical injuries and was transported to Auckland Hospital.
Two people have been arrested in relation to the fight.
"Police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the matter," the spokesperson said.
