New Zealand comedian Urzila Carlson had to abandon her time on The Project on Thursday because she had been in Melbourne during the past week.
The comedian recently performed to a crowd of 9000 people in Australia and had returned home to New Zealand in the last week.
She was one of 5000 people in New Zealand who had returned from Melbourne since May 20 who were asked by the Ministry of Health to head home and self-isolate because of the latest COVID-19 outbreak.
Carlson received a message on her phone from the Ministry of Health stating she needed to return home and get tested immediately while on the show.
However, Jeremy Corbett wasn't alarmed as he felt she was far away from the audience on the stage.
"She's on a pedestal over there, Australia's gonna claim Urzila Carlson soon, they really will."
Co-presenter Kanoa Lloyd added: "They may not have her.
"I thought she might have been a bit sadder to leave us but seemed quite chipper actually.
"Anyway, that will be happening all over New Zealand at the moment, people changing their plans and having plans uprooted.
"If you're one of those people, get your COVID test and hope life gets back to normal soon," Jesse Mulligan said.
"Yeah, and then as soon as you've got that stupid thing up nose, kick back and relax, we've got you covered," Lloyd added.
Victoria will enter a seven-day 'circuit-breaker' lockdown at 11:59pm on Thursday (local time) as the state's spiralling outbreak of COVID-19 continues to escalate.
