The Dunedin Central Countdown has been inundated with cards offering their aroha and support after a stabbing at the supermarket earlier this month.
A 42-year-old man has been charged over allegedly stabbing four people at the supermarket on Cumberland St on May 10.
The man entered no plea in court and will next appear in the Dunedin High Court on June 1.
On Tuesday a staff member at the Countdown took to social media to thank customers who had left letters and gifts for the workers at the store.
"I just wanted to say a big thank you to all the messages, notes, cards, drawings and treats we have received here at Countdown Central, we are honestly humbled and couldn't imagine a better group of people to come in[to] our store. So on behalf, thank you all so much."
A spokesperson for Countdown confirmed they had had an overwhelming response since the attack.
"We've had an outpouring of aroha and support from across Aotearoa, with customers bringing in flowers, cakes and chocolates to their local stores including Dunedin Central.
"These gestures have been so welcomed and appreciated after an incredibly tough couple of weeks."
The victims of the attack, which includes two Countdown workers and two members of the public who came to help, have also thanked the public for their support.
In a statement released by police on Monday, the victims said they greatly appreciated messages of support from around New Zealand as they recovered physically and mentally.
