About 60 firefighters are responding to a large blaze at a supermarket in west Auckland.
The fire broke out in a fridge in one of the aisles of Countdown in West City Shopping Centre shortly before 8:30pm on Thursday. Photos show one part of the chip aisle engulfed in flames.
A spokesperson for Fire and Emergency (FENZ) told Newshub around 60 firefighters from across Auckland and 14 fire trucks are attending the "significant" blaze.
Stuff reports the fire started in a fridge and firefighters are classifying the blaze as "electrical". The West City mall has also been evacuated.
