Auckland's North Shore Hospital was plunged into darkness for several hours overnight.
A Waitemata DHB spokesperson told Newshub an issue arose during scheduled maintenance works, leading to a power outage across some areas of the hospital.
"The Emergency Department and areas nearby within the hospital were affected," they said.
As a result, ambulances were diverted to other hospitals across Auckland between 11pm on Sunday and just after 3am Monday.
"Power has now been restored and there were no adverse patient outcomes," the spokesperson confirmed.
