Security guards have seized a knife off a shoplifter at an Auckland shopping mall on Tuesday night.
Police were called to Sylvia Park shopping mall just after 5pm after a shoplifter was reportedly confronted by security guards and brandished a knife at them.
"The security guards obtained the knife from the shoplifter and recovered the stolen goods, however the offender left by foot," a police spokesperson told Newshub.
No one was injured and police are still making enquiries into the incident.
