Emergency services rushed to extinguish a bus fire on Friday after the engine burst into flames near Lower Hutt.
Pictures and videos supplied to Newshub show the burnt-out remains of the bus on the side of the road, just south of Pomare Train Station.
The witness described the fire as an "inferno".
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson told Newshub they responded to the blaze at around 3:20pm and found the bus "well-involved".
The flames were extinguished within 15 minutes and no one was injured.
Police also attended the scene and Newshub have contacted them for comment.
