A property in north Canterbury has been cordoned off after a blast caps container was found on Tuesday morning.
The property at the intersection of Williams and Dale Sts, Kaiapoi is closed as a precaution while a Defence Force team removes the the explosives, a police spokesperson said.
Emergency services were alerted to the blast caps after they were found by a tradesman just before 9am.
