Police have seized 64 firearms in Northland in three months as part of a nationwide operation to prevent criminals accessing guns.
Forty-two people have been arrested, in what the police say is a great result.
Officers searching a Waima address linked to the Tribesman gang last month seized rifles, shotguns and a semi-automatic firearm.
Officers searching properties in Whangārei and Kerikeri in March found firearms, a semi-automatic weapon, and two grenades, which were later found to be inert.
Nationwide, since the operation started in February, police said they had seized 522 firearms and arrested 476 people.
