Two more arrested in Dilworth sexual offending investigation
Two more men have been arrested in relation to alleged sexual offending at private Auckland boarding school Dilworth, and new charges have been laid against two people already before the courts.
Police on Friday said two men - a 73-year-old and a 39-year-old - have been arrested. The former has been charged with three counts of indecent assault, and the latter three counts of sexual violation.
Two others - a 61-year-old and a 73-year-old, face new charges of indecent assault.
All four will next appear in court on June 8.
Police say they have now spoken to more than 150 former pupils as part of Operation Beverly, but are keen to hear from more if they have information.
There have now been 11 people charged in relation to the alleged historic offending at the school, which aims to "an excellent, all-round, fully funded, modern, boarding school education in a Christian environment".
Three of the defendants have died during the course of the investigation, which has uncovered dozens of alleged victims. The offending is alleged to have taken place over three decades from the 1970s.
A former student told RNZ in September "everyone knew it" was happening, but "it was just accepted".
"I cannot comprehend the trauma and pain those who have suffered abuse must have endured," Dilworth headmaster Dan Reddiex told Newshub that same month, saying it had cast a "dark shadow" over the school.
