Police have launched an investigation after two men linked to the King Cobras gang showed up to hospital with gunshot wounds.
Counties Manukau Detective Inspector Chris Barry says authorities were made aware of the incident at 8pm on Tuesday after the pair turned up at Middlemore Hospital with minor gunshot wounds.
"At this stage the victims have declined to provide a formal statement to Police and have not provided a description of any other parties that may have been involved," he says.
Although the two men are linked to the King Cobras, police say they have no evidence this incident is linked to recent tension between this gang and Rebel Gangs.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 105 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
