Police say there are "serious concerns" for a missing Christchurch woman.
Shirley Warrington was last seen on Main South Rd in Rolleston at 7:30pm on Saturday.
The 85-year-old has health issues and police say she may be "disoriented and confused".
"We now have reason to believe she may be in the Ferrymead, Heathcote, or Horotane Valley Road areas and are asking residents in these areas to check their properties including bushes, outbuildings, and tree lines," police say.
Search and rescue teams were being deployed this afternoon but police say the public is also being asked to check their sections, including any sheds, in case Warrington has sought shelter.
Warrington was last seen wearing a black dress and police say she is not dressed for the cold weather.
