A gang brawl outside a Burger King restaurant in Christchurch is being described as "scary" by a witness.
Police said the "disorder incident" involving gang members broke out on Lincoln Rd, in the suburb of Addington, about 5:20pm on Saturday - New Zealand's fourth day at COVID-19 alert level 4.
"There was so much broken glass," an unnamed witness, who said the fight was between Mongrel Mob affiliates and a group of skinheads, told Stuff. He described the brawl as "scary and "surreal".
A police spokesman said no one was injured in the fight.
"Two parties became involved in the disorder and then both groups have then left in their vehicles.
"Police later spoke to one group who did not wish to make a formal complaint," the spokesman said.
