A woman has been charged with murder after the death of a child at a Rotorua property on Sunday.
Emergency services were notified of the child's death at a property in the suburb of Glenholme just after 10:30am, a police statement said.
The murder-accused, a 27-year-old woman, will appear in the Rotorua District Court on Monday.
Police said a scene examination is continuing. Forensic examiners were seen finger printing the front unit of the Glenholme property on Monday morning.
"As this matter is now before the courts, police will not be making any further comment," police said.
