A woman is injured after riding in the boot of a car that crashed in Dunedin, just days after five teenagers were killed in a Timaru crash - one of whom was found dead in the boot.
Police rushed to the scene of the multiple vehicle crash on Dunedin's Hillside Rd at 7pm on Monday, where they found the woman with a head wound in the boot of the car.
The Herald reports the driver was on her restricted license and had piled six people into her four-seater sedan.
It's alleged she failed to give way at the intersection and hit another car, causing the woman in the boot to sustain a large cut to the back of her head.
She was taken to hospital, The Herald reports.
It comes just two days after five boys were killed in a horror crash in Timaru after the overloaded car hit a power pole. The car's 19-year-old driver was the sole survivor of the crash which was so severe it sliced the car in half.
One of the boys was found dead in the boot and police say a number of the other passengers were not wearing seatbelts.
