Police are urging New Zealanders to maintain their COVID-19 bubbles for the health and safety of all dads this Father's Day.
Father's Day is a special opportunity to celebrate the dads and father figures in everyone's life, but alert level restrictions must come first.
With Auckland in alert level 4 lockdown and the rest of the country in level 3, celebrating with your loved ones is limited.
"The best way to show love and appreciation is to maintain our bubbles," Police Commissioner Andrew Coster says.
"The last thing anyone wants to do is compromise a parent or loved one's health by ignoring the restrictions."
New Zealand recorded another 20 new cases on Sunday, and tragically on Saturday recorded its first COVID-19-related death since September last year.
Police are out and about in our communities on Sunday to ensure motorists are travelling for permitted purposes only.
As of 3:30pm on Saturday, a total of 18,493 vehicles had been stopped at the 10 checkpoints on Auckland's northern and southern boundaries.
Police have arrested 181 people with a total of 192 offences nationwide since alert level 4 began.
Police have issued 131 offences for Failing to Comply with COVID-19 rules, 38 for Failure to Comply with Direction/Prohibition/Restriction,18 for Health Act Breaches, and five for Assaults/Threatens/Hinders/Obstructs Enforcement Officer.
