Director General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield will be providing an update on New Zealand's COVID-19 outbreak at 1pm.
New Zealand recorded its first death in the August 2021 outbreak on Saturday, a woman in her 90s. There were also 20 new community cases recorded, all in Auckland.
Dr Bloomfield's address will be followed by Deputy Prime Minister Grant Robertson who will discuss the terror attack at west Auckland's LynnMall Countdown on Friday.
Suppression orders around the ISIS-inspired "lone wolf" terrorist who stabbed seven people during the attack lifted overnight and he has been identified as 32-year-old Sri Lankan national Ahamed Aathil Mohamed Samsudeen.
