Auckland fire crews have been called to a dozen incidents on Monday morning after Auckland was pelted by a large thunderstorm.
Metservice forecaster Karl Loots told Newshub the storm caused surface flooding in parts.
He said it's now heading east towards the Bay of Plenty and Taupō and residents should brace for potential flooding.
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said crews have been called to a dozen incidents across Auckland due to the storm. Five crews are currently out across the city.
