One person has died and another is seriously injured after a crash on Auckland's Mt Wellington Highway in the early hours of Friday morning.
Police say the single-vehicle crash was reported shortly after 2:30am.
The person who died passed away at the scene of the crash.
A second person was seriously injured and taken to Auckland City Hospital.
Diversions were in place for several hours after the crash between Hamlin Rd and Aranui Rd.
Cordons have now been lifted and police say an investigation into the circumstances of the crash is underway.
