Tributes are flowing in from New Zealand artists in honour of the 16-year-old killed at a party in Christchurch last week.

Connor Whitehead was gunned down at a teenage party on Friday, and two people have since been charged with his murder. A further three people have been charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

Several Kiwi artists are honouring Whitehead through the #4Connor and #zukool movements. Whitehead produced music under the moniker Zukool.

The movement was started with the blessing of Whitehead's dad, and Kiwi artists are encouraged to participate to honour the teen.

Hip-hop artist King Cass paid tribute to Whitehead in a Facebook post, saying the 16-year-old was a talented young rapper whose life was taken too soon.

"As a youth advocate and member of the Christchurch community and hip-hop scene, I thought I would write a verse in support. I got lost in the emotion and I've written a whole song today," King Cass says.

"I wrote this for all his friends and family to be able to relate to the words as music is healing. He was a talented rapper whose life was taken too soon, aged 16, he had mad talent.

"I wrote this song for his Mum, his Dad, his siblings, his wide whanau. We stand with you for Connor. His light will never fade, love always wins."

Drum and bass artist Camo MC says Christchurch is mourning Whitehead's death.

"As a father myself, I want to send all my love out to Connor's family and all that knew him, and Connor, you had bars my g, so gutted we never got to meet or jam," he says.

"Rest in peace Connor, gone but never forgotten."

The artists encourage others to participate in the movement and show their support for Whitehead and his family by using #4Connor and #zukool across Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
