Two pedestrians have died after a vehicle collided with them on a main Taupō road.
According to police, emergency services were called at 1:42pm to a collision between a vehicle and pedestrians on Lake Terrace.
Police ask motorists to avoid the area. Earlier in the day, both Lake Terrace and Pataka Rd were closed.
The Serious Crash Unit has been advised and an investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing, police say.
