A passerby has pulled a man's body from Wellington harbour.
Police say emergency services were called to reports of a sudden death in central Wellington this morning.
Stuff reports the man was recovered from Wellington harbour near the Star Boating Club after a passerby saw the body in the water and pulled him ashore.
"A 47-year-old man was retrieved from Wellington Harbour at about 7am and has died at the scene," police said in a statement.
"Police are making enquiries in relation to the death on behalf of the coroner."
