Tourists attractions, Air New Zealand flights, supermarkets, domestic airports and a retirement home are all a part of the Ministry of Health's locations of interest published on Sunday.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced on Sunday morning that all of Aotearoa will go to red in the COVID-19 traffic light setting as a result of an Omicron outbreak.
Nine cases in the Nelson-Marlborough region are confirmed to have this variant and there is no clear lead on the index case that links these people to the border, which prompted the decision.
Going into red means tighter restrictions on gatherings and events - especially for the unvaccinated and businesses that refuse to use vaccine passports, and makes it mandatory to wear a face-covering in numerous settings.
The Ministry of Health is starting to announce the locations of interest that are linked to Omicron-positive cases with 20 locations announced on Sunday.
Of those 20, six are considered to be 'close contacts' where the ministry is asking people to isolate.
The ministry said anyone who was at Auckland Airport's domestic terminal on Sunday, January 16 from 4:15-5pm are asked to self-isolate, and get a test immediately and on day 5 after you were exposed at this location of interest.
Five Air New Zealand flights over the past week flying in and out of Nelson, New Plymouth and Auckland are being considered 'close contacts'.
The ministry is asking anyone on these flights to immediately self-isolate, get a test immediately and on day 5 after you were exposed at this location of interest as their exposure is linked to an Omicron case.
The five flights are:
- Air New Zealand flight NZ5077 from Auckland to Nelson - Wednesday 19 January from 2pm to 3:30pm
- Air New Zealand flight NZ5042 from New Plymouth to Auckland - Thursday 20 January from 1:50pm to 2:45pm

Summerset by the Park in Flat Bush is also a new location of interest on four occasions. The ministry said anyone who was at the retirement home at the following times is not required to self-isolate. But they do need to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms for 10 days after you were exposed.
If symptoms develop, get a test and stay at home until you get a negative test result.
