Police have confirmed more human remains were found at Leithfield Beach in north Canterbury on Sunday.
These are linked to the remains located at the beach on Thursday, police say. Emergency services were notified of those remains by a member of the public just after 8:30am on Thursday.
The remains are yet to be identified but police say they are of an adult.
Police say they're working with the coroner to formally identify the remains and determine the cause of death.
