A person has been hospitalised in a serious condition after being hit by a vehicle in the Auckland suburb of Avondale on Friday afternoon.
The driver of the vehicle on Racecourse Parade did not stop after the crash, police say.
Officers are currently "making enquiries in relation to the vehicle involved" and anyone who can help track it down should provide information to the police.
St Johns confirmed to Newshub that it received a call about the incident at 2:04pm.
"One rapid response vehicle, one manager and one ambulance responded to the scene," St Johns said.
"One patient was treated and transported to Auckland Hospital in a serious condition."
