Emergency services are responding to a helicopter crash in Karamea on the West Coast.
Police say they received reports of the crash at 4pm on Sunday and initial indications are that the pilot was the only person on board. They say this person is "conscious and breathing".
The crash will be reported to the Civil Aviation Authority.
