'Got dysentery': COVID anti-mandate protesters mocked in Google reviews of Parliament

Protesters in Wellington are being mocked in Google reviews of Parliament after revelations some had thrown human waste at police officers and allegations of raw sewage being emptied into the stormwater system around the Beehive.

Multiple protesters were arrested on Tuesday morning as tensions reached boiling point and some demonstrators clashed with police. Three police officers needed medical attention after being sprayed with an "unknown substance" while one person allegedly attempted to drive a car into a group of cops.

That came just a day after demonstrators threw human waste at cops. Swim warnings also had to be put in place by the Wellington City Council as it investigated raw sewage being emptied into the stormwater system around Parliament

Kiwis have been reacting to the developments, with many mocking the behaviour in Google reviews of Parliament's address - which has been renamed "Muddy Clown School".

"Worse than Fyre festival," one reviewer said, referring to the infamous 2019 event in the Bahamas that was so disorganised people had little food, nowhere to sleep and no access to facilities.

"Worst festival ever," another wrote.

"The brown stuff was more than just mud," wrote another reviewer.

"Got dysentery," said another review posted last week, referring to the stomach infection that causes diarrhoea containing blood.

Meanwhile, one Facebook user has also taken to Marketplace to jokingly advertise a 4sqm plot of land on Parliament's grounds for $1 million a month.

"Gets the morning sun, comes with free food, free live music on the front doorstep," the description says.

"Very secure area, plenty of police around.

"No consent needed to build."

Police earlier confirmed three people were arrested near the Parliament protest on Tuesday morning.

"Officers will continue to be highly visible in and around the protest area today," a statement said. "As we stated yesterday, it has become increasingly clear that genuine protesters are no longer in control of the behaviour in and around Parliament."
