A 12-year-old Auckland student has not only completed an entire high school year in 10 months, but now is enrolled at Auckland University of Technology as its youngest student.
Alisa Pham told AM she spent most of her high school year learning from home.
"I did a lot of my own self-learning like going through books, getting my own exams doing previous year test papers, those kinds of things, just so I could learn all of that."
Pham is a provisional member of Mensa, meaning she is in the top two percent of the most intelligent people in the world across all ages.
Being the youngest student at university Pham told AM that doesn't hold her back from working with other university students.
"At uni there is no difficulty for me to do things like group assignments or talk to people at uni I think because I am doing the same learning as them."
Pham beat her sister at being the youngest student at AUT which she says has started a different competition between them both.
"She was like it's okay, it's just that I'm going to be the youngest student to complete a PHD."
Pham wants to publish her own autobiography in ten languages, donate 20 thousand books in English to children in Vietnam and wants to list her own company on the stock exchange by 2025, and those are just some of her goals.
