St Patrick's Day celebrations have been muted around most of the country on Thursday - but that wasn't the case in Dunedin, where revellers spilled out into the streets.
Just weeks after orientation parties became Omicron super spreader events, students were back at it.
Many were seen ignoring COVID-19 protocols and partying in large numbers throughout the student quarter on Castle St.
"COVID, we've all been through it, it's f***ing nothing now - we're enjoying ourselves," one partygoer told Newshub.
Police were on hand to monitor the celebrations.
Firefighters also attended a couch fire and one person was taken to hospital after falling from a roof.
