Volunteers are no longer being asked to help with further searches for Bay of Plenty doctor David Holland.
The 31-year-old was last seen on March 11.
Dr Holland was believed to have gone for a swim at Pāpāmoa. He later did not show up to work.
Police said any new information received on his whereabouts would continue to be investigated.
A large search of the beach by 148 community volunteers, plus Surf Life Saving and Coastguard members found nothing connecting Dr Holland to the area.
